The “12th Five Year” period is a crucial period for China's rubber industry to transfer from a large-scale rubber manufacturing country into a rubber manufacturing country with solid strength. The development of low carbon emission, green and energy efficient tires and new rubber materials has become the trump for international tire manufacturers to take up the commanding heights of the market. The Chinese rubber industry will complete the applications of environmentally friendly, energy saving and highly efficient materials and green chemicals, use advanced technologies, formulate product standards, and realize the “green transformation” of safe and energy-saving products, striving to realize the industrialization of “green tires” at the end of the “12th Five Year” period.

In recent years, confronted with the restructuring of the Chinese tire industry, the Chinese rubber industry has done a lot of work in the aspect of green rubber materials, and made great achievements. The government and industry associations have proposed and developed the direction and policies for green development; relevant enterprises actively respond to the calls and adjust the direction and focus of transformation. This year, the “‘Green tire’ industrialization program (draft)” was introduced, and the discussion on “Green Tire Industry Development” was launched. Five preliminary proposals, including “‘green tire” product indicators, recommended process conditions for green tires, green tire energy and resource indicators, and recommended directories of environmentally friendly raw materials for green tires, have basically developed. From industry self-regulation to the gradual establishment of the “tire labeling system” of China, the Chinese tire industry will usher in a new stage of development.

Last year, we successfully held the “2012 green rubber new materials technology and application forum” in Jinan, having received the strong support from many people in the industry, and causing repercussions in the industry. In order to better promote the development of China's green tire industry, and promote the applications of China's rubber new material technologies, China National Chemical Information Center and the New Materials Committee of the Chemical Society of China joint hands once again to hold the “2nd green rubber new materials technology and applications forum”, gathering together well-known experts in the fields of economy, rubber, tires, additives, and so on. Domestic and foreign tire companies, rubber raw materials companies, traders, downstream producers and rubber chemical agents manufacturers were also invited to attend the forum.
